Our Story & Approach
Quiet Work. Lasting Change.
Concordia was founded to give families a calm, educational setting where communication skills can be explored without pressure. We believe that small, thoughtful changes in how families talk with each other can make a meaningful difference over time.
Back to HomeWho We Are
About Concordia
Concordia began in Bangkok in 2018, when a small group of educators and communication researchers noticed a gap in what was available to families navigating periods of change and complexity. There were professional services — legal, financial, psychological — but very little that was simply educational: a calm place to learn how to listen better, how to express yourself clearly, and how to share responsibilities without friction.
The name Concordia comes from the Latin word for harmony — not the absence of disagreement, but the presence of a shared willingness to work things through. That is the spirit behind every session we run. We are not here to tell families what to do. We are here to offer tools, frameworks, and reflective space.
Over the years, our programmes have been attended by parents working through changes in their households, extended family members navigating unfamiliar dynamics, and individuals who simply want to communicate more clearly in their closest relationships. We keep our group sizes small, our facilitators experienced, and our tone consistently calm and respectful.
We are based in Khlong Toei, Bangkok, and all sessions are delivered on-site unless otherwise arranged. Our content is developed in-house, reviewed regularly, and always framed as educational rather than advisory.
Our Mission
To make family communication education accessible, calm, and practically useful — without pressure, without prescriptions, and without replacing the professional support families may need elsewhere.
Our Values
- Respect for each person's pace and perspective
- Clarity over complexity in all that we share
- Educational framing — never personal advice
- Confidentiality and care in every session
- Continuous improvement of our materials

How We Work
Our Standards & Approach
Every session at Concordia is designed and delivered according to the same core principles.
Education-First Design
All content is framed as information and skills education. No session provides personal advice or constitutes a professional service of any kind.
Confidentiality in Sessions
Our facilitators adhere to clear confidentiality expectations. What participants share in the room stays in the room, within the limits of applicable responsibilities.
Regularly Reviewed Materials
Session content is reviewed at least annually against current research in communication studies, adult learning, and family education.
Data Handled with Care
Personal information collected for registration is held securely and used only for session coordination. We do not share participant data with third parties for marketing.
Experienced Facilitation
All sessions are led by facilitators with backgrounds in adult education or group facilitation, not untrained volunteers or external contractors unfamiliar with our approach.
Neutral Facilitation Style
Facilitators do not take sides, offer opinions on individual situations, or attempt to direct participants toward any particular conclusion.
Family Communication Education in Bangkok
Families in Bangkok and across Thailand face many of the same communication challenges found anywhere in the world — the difficulty of expressing needs without triggering defensiveness, the challenge of coordinating shared responsibilities when people have different expectations, and the friction that builds when regular conversations feel more like negotiations than exchanges between people who care about each other.
Concordia's workshops address these patterns at a skills level. Rather than exploring the psychology of individual relationships or providing personal guidance, we focus on transferable communication skills: how to listen with attention rather than waiting for a turn to speak, how to state a need clearly without framing it as an accusation, how to build shared systems for managing household or family logistics that everyone involved can actually use.
The educational framing matters to us. We want participants to leave with knowledge and tools they own — things they can apply, adapt, and continue practising independently. A Concordia session is a starting point, not a dependency. We are not a service that needs to be ongoing to deliver value. One workshop, attended thoughtfully, can shift how a family approaches a conversation for years.
Our Bangkok location, combined with our English-language delivery, makes us accessible to the international and mixed-language communities that are well-represented across the city. Sessions are kept small to make sure every participant has space to engage with the material at their own level.
